Hay hackers!
After some time spent restoring my gentoo machine I’m back to KDE stuff… I worked on the must-have-feature “Drag&drop from panel” and tried to polish its behavior as much as possible together with Marco Martin.
Even if there’s still some little weirdness to fix we decided to commit anyway since it does its work! So have a look:
So please test it and let me know about bugs so i’ll try to fix them.

Now the last “little” thing to iron out and Plasma wopuld be 99% perfect for me: resizing plasmoids in a more sane way (I think Aaron already said it’s something should be fixed), because the current “resize from center” is really a pain to use.
Anyway, and even if you can’t fix this in time for 4.2, great work, Plasma is going to rock even more in 4.2!

Looking good! It would be neat to either add animation to the rest of the panel as it moves out of the way, or if it is there, to slow it down a little bit. I think that would add some polish and remove some of the “magic” from the rest of the icons suddenly jumping position. If they were to more slowing move out of the way it would look more seamless.
@xian: Marco Martin already answered to this question in his last blog entry… it will be done in 4.3.
