Woooooooooooooooooow! Man! That’s amazing ๐Ÿ˜€ Have to try it; is it in playground? And one suggestion: make an option to change the launcher icon, like Lancelot has.

    Very very nice screenshots.
I can’t wait to test it.

Too bad, there is no deb package available for ubuntu via synaptic yet (even a dev version like koffice-dev-kde4 would be nice).

I hope someday, somone will consider creating a repository and publish dev (and stable) versions of raptor.

    Congratulations !

Is there any place to get a hold of krunner dev’s on irc or something like that? I’m having some trouble implementing actions (or rather, implementing actions that dont crash krunner when I spam tons of search terms in without letting it update completely), I’ll admit I haven’t looked around for it too much ๐Ÿ˜›

http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/fsrunner+for+KRunner?content=100057 this project in case you’re interested in the code. The actions code is more or less copied and pasted from http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Addon+Runners+for+KRunner?content=98529 , but still fails fairly reliably for me.

@Anders: THis is not KRunner, but try #plasma

@everyone: Don’t consider Raptor to be usable, the core technology is still missing!

    Packagers: PLEASE DON’T PACKAGE IT!

I installed raptor without apparently error but when I type “raptor-menu” the output is “bash: raptor-menu: command not found” .

    @boom1992:

Why not build packages? Jaunty has released an early version of Raptor which at least can be used as a “very simple” application starter.

Unfortunately, the search does not work and without any configuration options, it looks a little bit poor yet, but it’s anyway nice to tryout Raptor, after we thought a long time the project is completely dead.

    Really nice screenshots! THX!

    btw: โ€œRelease early, release oftenโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don’t like that for scroll the menu I must to clik on the left or right arrows…a good idea can be to scroll the menu without click, but with mouse over the arrows.

Yes! Smooth animated scolling with the mouse-wheel would be cool. But the arrows are really great, when you use a touchscreen. You can also scroll when you click’n’hold and drag to the left or right. It is still very oriented on touchscreens now.

  15. 16 gp42 March 14, 2009 at 2:13 pm

Yes. For touchscreen is fantastic, very fantastic. But for normal PC is not good idea about usability. A good idea can be to choose if use scrolling with the mouse-whell (like default) or not (for touchscreens).
